Sunday Spiritual 1/25

Announcements:

• There will be a food drive February 14th, please bring a can of food to get into the Valentine's dance. Any other food donations are appreciated!
• Tomorrow's FHE is at Bishop Packer's home @ 7PM.
• The Wednesday activity this week was switched to movie on the wall, the lip sync will be the week after (the 4th).
• Although we tried to convince the Bishop to take a rain check, we will still be holding church next week despite the super bowl. Maybe your team will win if you come!

Sacrament Meeting speakers were Simon Gray, Logan West, and Jordan Lawson. They spoke on the changing process described in Alma chapter 5, thanks for their willingness to speak and their preparation. I know at least I was uplifted.

Sunday Spiritual 1/11

Announcements:

• Ward Temple Night this Thursday 1/15, meet at the church @ 5:45 PM for endowments, 6:15 PM for baptisms for the 7PM sessions. Meet at Farr's for a treat after (or if your New Year's resolution is against that, you can come and smugly watch others add inches to their waistline, while being such a good example!).
• Stake Basketball has started, women play on Tuesdays and the men dominate on Thursdays (ok j/k, the women have Lael so we know they are dominating too). For specific times each week please talk to the men's/women's sports rep in the ward.
• Tax deduction donation slips can be obtained from the clerks or the bishopric. While you're filling out your W2 be sure to remember just how good it is to give, when you realize how much money you now don't have to give to uncle sam.
• Linger Longer is next Sunday, we have having Sloppy Joes! The Linger Longer Committee will be providing the sloppy, but we need everything else (buns, condiments, sannwich fixins, salads, drinks, chips, etc.). If you're like me and you still have about 8 loaves of fruit cake left from Christmas you can always bring those as well.

Speakers in Sacrament meeting were Nate Sorensen, Kelly Jackson, and Marilyn Dickey, who all spoke on Alma 5. Thanks for their willingness to speak especially to such an intimidating crowd (as most can attest I'm always in the back making growly noises and scary faces, but what is a guy to do when his mom couldn't afford rabies shots when he was mauled by wild wolves at 5 years old? ruff ruff).

Announcements:

• The activity this week is ice skating (at the Ogden Ice Sheet), meet at the church @ 7pm.
• The New Year's Eve Activity was well attended, thanks to the committee for the decorations / cleanup and for all those who attended to usher in the new year in style. Pictures are up on the bulletin board in the hallway
  
• Home Teaching assignments have been changed / updated for January, if you have questions about your assignment or anyone you visit please see the EQ Presidency (Tom Kotter).

Fast & Testimony meeting was great as always, thanks to those who bore there testimonies at the pulpit and those who bore them silently. We are now studying the Doctrine & Covenants in Sunday School, if you need a pamphlet / study guide, talk to one of the Sunday School teachers or the Sunday School President (Mark Van Pelt).
